This grass is extremely resilient throughout, and unless there is a lot of snowfall, it will endure the test of winter. During the coldest winter days, this gives birds crucial cover. Because of its versatility, this grass can be used as a specimen, in masses, for screening, next to ponds or streams, or even in big containers.
