Solomon's Seal, Variegated
Polygonatum odoratum 'Variegatum'

A handsome and fragrant perennial that likes the shade, Polygonatum odoratum 'Variegatum' (Fragrant Solomon's Seal) has slightly arching stems covered in creamy-white, vase-shaped blooms with green tips in late spring to early summer. They gracefully dangle from the leaf axils, and in the fall, they are followed by lovely blue-black berries. Elegant, highly ornamental foliage with elliptic, bright green leaves that are splashed and striped with creamy white and change to appealing shades of yellow in the fall. Variegated Solomon's Seal is a classic beauty for the shady woodland garden or the part-shade to full-shade border. It is a native of shaded slopes and woodland areas in temperate countries of Europe and Asia.
