Rhododendron micrantha
From May to June, clusters of dark pink calyxes or buds open to show off pale pink blooms. For extra drama and visual appeal, the trumpet-shaped flowers include prominent stamens and slightly ruffled petals. The glossy, ovate-green leaves has brown undersides. The pink edge on new leaves gradually disappears over time. Being a broadleaf evergreen, this shrub keeps its leaves throughout the year, adding visual appeal and texture even in the dead of winter.
