Phlox paniculata 'Nicky' is a striking herbaceous perennial with huge, pyramidal clusters of dark magenta-purple blooms, the darkest of all tall garden phlox. It is a consistent bloomer with good resistance to mildew. The fragrant blooms, which bloom for weeks from mid to late summer, are rich in nectar and are frequented by hummingbirds and butterflies. They make superb fresh-cut blooms and are carried on stiff, tall stems covered in narrow, lance-shaped, mid-green leaves. For maximum impact, plant in drifts, and make sure you have enough for the vase!
