Hydrangea quercifolia 'Pee Wee' (Oak Leaf Hydrangea), a compact, well-rounded deciduous shrub known for its brilliant leaf and cone-shaped flowers, is perfect for small gardens. This Oak Leaf Hydrangea blooms in the early to mid-summer and features an abundance of dense, erect, conical flower panicles stuffed with sizable ray florets. As October approaches, the blossoms start out white and develop lovely pink tinges. As the nights become chillier in the fall, the thick foliage of deeply lobed, oak-shaped, mid-green leaves becomes wine red.
