Gaillardia, Mesa Peach #1
Gaillardia Mesa Peach
Gaillardia x grandiflora, Gaillardia aristata x Gaillardia pulchella
Grandiflora Gaillardia A bushy, typically short-lived herbaceous perennial, "Mesa Peach" (Blanket Flower) has many, peach blossoms that are framed by a bold yellow band. The daisy-like flowers bloom from early to late summer, roughly 2-3 weeks earlier than comparable types, and they don't lose their bright color with time. The blooms are a wonderful lure for butterflies since they are nectar-rich. This well-known blanket flower develops into a sturdy, erect plant that is uniformly compact and well-branched. Once planted, it takes little maintenance because it is wind- and rain-resistant, drought- and heat-tolerant. In the first year, it blooms.
