Redbud is an intriguing genus of tiny trees that includes numerous species, cultivars, and variations. Redbuds, which are native to the eastern and southern United States, are found in rural areas and, along with dogwoods, are among the first trees to bloom in the early spring. Redbuds need soil that drains well, even if it's rocky. The health of the trees will quickly deteriorate if they are planted in soils that are damp or have inadequate drainage. It's best to plant dry and high!
