'Mauna Loa' Hemerocallis A huge, 5 in. wide, amber gold flower with a light green throat and fine ruffled margins, the daylily is a compact perennial. The plant's lovely blooms, which bloom from early to midsummer, are held neatly above its compact pile of arching, sword-like leaves. Each flower usually only lasts for 24 hours, blooming in the morning and fading the next night. The following day, a new flower may appear on the same flower stem. This tetraploid daylily is dormant and early in the growing season. Great for perennial borders, mass plantings, and erosion control.
