Camellia 'Pink Icicle' is a striking camellia that is vigorous and attractive. It has enormous, 4.5 in. wide (11 cm), shell pink blossoms that bloom in the middle of the season, which can range from late winter to spring depending on where you live. The rabbit-ear petals are gracefully blended with tiny petals and golden stamen in the peony-form blooms. The small, glossy, oval-shaped, dark green leaves that make up the evergreen foliage provide a stunning contrast to the huge blossoms. This camellia hybrid, created by D. William Ackerman of the United States National Arboretum, is cold tolerant and may thrive in climates as chilly as USDA Zone 6b.
