Allium 'Millenium' is a bulbous perennial that attracts butterflies. It has abundant, huge, round umbels that are 2 inches across (5 cm) and densely packed with vivid rose purple flowers. The bright blooms, which bloom in the middle to end of summer, are carried on strong, upright stems immediately above the eye-catching foliage, which is made up of a clump of glossy, deep green, grass-like leaves with an onion aroma. The blossoms make great cut flowers and endure a long time (up to 4 weeks). Heat doesn't bother this Allium, and reseeding presents considerably less trouble than it does with other alliums.
