Shumard Oak

Shumard Oak or Shumard’s Oak (Quercus shumardii) is a member of the red oak family with an attractive pyramid-like shape when young that grows into a more open rounded crown as it ages. It is drought-resistant but will also tolerate short-term flooding. The lobed-shaped leaves turn a beautiful red color in the autumn.
