Astragalus chinense A small, bushy, evergreen shrub with a mounding growth habit and dark purple leaves that last all year is called Purple Daydream (Chinese Fringe Flower). It produces a lot of clusters of spidery, bright pink blooms in the spring, each with inch-long, twisted petals. The vivid flowers stand out beautifully against the gloomy foliage. This little evergreen shrub is ideal for accent plantings or large-scale landscaping. Along the entranceway, it produces a charming hedge and looks great in perennial borders or in containers. ideal for compact gardens.
