Syringa x hyacinthiflora Scentara Double Blue (Early Flowering Lilac) is a prolific bloomer with magnificent panicles packed with highly fragrant lavender-blue double flowers. Its copious blossoms provide a striking display in mid-spring, roughly 7-10 days earlier than typical lilacs. The erect, open branches are covered in bright green, heart-shaped leaves that remain appealing throughout the summer. It makes a superb specimen or background plant, as well as an informal hedge or screen, because it is uniform, heavy-blooming, and disease-tolerant.
