Bee Balm, Pardon My Lavender II #1
'Pardon My Lavender II' Bee Balm
Monarda didyma
This new variety has good resistance to powdery mildew, which is an issue with many older Bee Balms. These plants will flourish if you only give them lots of water, sunshine, and air circulation. Â Since monarda is indigenous to eastern North America, it grows easily and spreads swiftly. Numerous hummingbirds, butterflies, and bees visit the area because of the blooms' delicious nectar. The fragrant leaves, which are frequently used to flavor teas, have a minty scent when crushed.
