Pinus strobus 'Pendula' (Eastern White Pine)
Pinus strobus 'Pendula' (Eastern White Pine), an evergreen conifer with long, gracefully weeping branches spilling on the ground and producing a creeping ground cover, is a living artwork in the landscape. It has a lot of foliage, which consists of long, supple blue-green needles that are borne in clusters of five. As a sprawling shrub, this conifer needs to be taught to grow a core trunk. This graceful White Pine grows over 12 inches (30 cm) per year and is an excellent specimen plant.
