Gem Box® Inkberry holly
Ilex glabra

Rather than resembling an inkberry, this novel dwarf broadleaf evergreen appears more like a boxwood. Gem Box ilex is a thick, ball-shaped plant with tiny, delicate, dark green leaves that have a lovely crimson tip in the spring. Unlike other cultivars, it never seems bare-legged because it keeps good branching all the way to the ground. In milder regions, it works well as a container specimen or as a little evergreen hedge.
